Lyrics: Robert Baitinger
In Facebook somebody posted the following: Old age has just come at a bad time. Just as I was beginning to know everything, I'm now forgetting everything I knew. I thought, what a cool quote, so I wrote a song about it.
Old Age Comes At A Bad Time
[Verse]
I walk in a room forget why I came
Lost my own glasses, that's my new game
Step on the floor, but miss the beat
Shake my hips, still move my feet!
[Chorus]
Old age comes at a bad time
Just as I was hitting my prime
I was ready to rock
Now I misplace my socks
So I'll raise a toast with beer and wine
Old age comes at a bad time
[Verse]
Tell the same story two times in a row
Laugh at the joke, though I don't even know
Names disappear like clouds in the mist
But I lift my glass and shake my fist!
[Chorus]
Old age comes at a bad time
Just as I was hitting my prime
I was ready to rock
Now I misplace my socks
So I'll raise a toast with beer and wine
Old age comes at a bad time
[Bridge - call-and-response style]
Forget my keys? (that's all right!)
Can't find my phone? (call tonight!)
I get lost? (that's ok)
I might just find (a better way!)
[Interlude]
[Chorus]
Old age comes at a bad time
Just as I was hitting my prime
I was ready to rock, now I misplace my socks
So I'll raise a toast with beer and wine
Old age comes at a bad time
[Outro - chant idea]
So raise a glass, one more time!
Old age comes at a bad time!
Old age comes at a bad time
